I have been teaching and performing music since obtaining my performance diploma on the recorder from Trinity College London in 1993 and have worked with a wide variety of musical genres including chamber groups, church choirs, recorder orchestras, early music chamber instrumental groups and opera in Northern Ireland, Devon, Gloucestershire and in Bristol where I now live.
I have experience in teaching students both from a solo perspective to conducting large ensembles and have a practice which covers the teaching of recorder, guitar, ukulele, flute, singing, percussion and keyboard.
I am enthusiastic about sharing my understanding of the way in which music is written and I encourage all to explore the techniques behind musical composition, from very young students who wish to write songs for their friends, to working as a consultant with contemporary professional composers.
